Steak Dinner
| I guess I forgot to post last night's dinner. Ron grilled a wonderful tasting steak and we had a baked potato. You might think this is crazy but I'm going to give you my recipe for making baked potatoes. The other day I was at work and a few of us were talking about cooking. You would not believe that two of the people I was speaking with did not know how to make two of the simplest items in the world. One was a grilled cheese sandwich and the other was a potato. So here is my secret to cooking a great potato in the microwave. Scrub an average size russet potato and remove all the dirt. Place the potato in a zip top bag and zip it up (do not poke holes in the potato). Microwave 7 to 10 minutes on 100% power. During the microwave process you'll hear the bag "pop." It's ok let it continue cooking. Remove from microwave. Be careful the potato will be HOT and there will be moisture in the bag. If the potato is still tough, zip the bag back up and continue microwaving until the potato is soft enough for your liking. Remove from the bag and slit the potato open, add your toppings and eat.
The steak looks dark in the picture, but it had beautiful grill marks on it. |
